Within the framework of contract No. 10-28/22Eq-1, funded by the Committee for Higher Education and Science of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia under the competition “Provision of financial support for the modernization of infrastructure and material-technical base in the field of science”, KENDL SHI was supplied with a high-precision metal powder 3D printer.

The Desktop Metal Studio System 2 represents a fundamentally new approach to the process of part fabrication. It enables the production of fine and geometrically complex components that cannot be manufactured using conventional machining methods.
This system reduces both material waste and processing time.

The equipment will allow KENDL SHI to conduct new research in the field of accelerator technology development — enabling the creation and use of compact mechanical components such as THz-range waveguides, converters, resonators, antennas (receivers), and other similar devices.

After the successful installation of the metal powder 3D printer at KENDL SHI, foreign specialists conducted a one-week training course for the institute’s researchers.
The training was attended by Minas Sukiasyan, Laya Anjon, and Hamlet Isunts.

The equipment has been handed over for full operation.
